Ta’ Cenc Development application

Malta Independent Friday, 24 August 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Reference is made to the title of a report carried in The Malta Independent, 22 August 2007, that reads ‘Mepa decision next week, but developer undecided on golf course’. This header which is referring to the proposed development application at Ta’ Cenc is misleading as opposed to what is written in the article.

The Authority would like to clarify that at no point during the Environment Impact Assessment public hearing was it stated that the MEPA decision would be taken a week from the public hearing.

It was stated however that, in accordance with the EIA Regulations, MEPA will accept written comments on the EIA up to a week from the date of the public hearing, this being the closing date for the public consultation exercise of the EIA. A report on the EIA findings, including the comments made at the public hearing, will then be sent to the case officer.

The final decision will be taken after the conclusion of the DPA report by the case officer.
