Fra Andrew Bertie, the Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, was slightly injured last Wednesday when he was returning from a yacht trip to the magisterial villa in San Michele di Pagana, near Rapallo.

It seems the Grand Master stumbled on something left on the quay and fell badly. However, despite his age, he appears to have overcome this mishap.

He was promptly helped by his retinue and was treated for injuries to his face, nose, right leg and hands, after which he returned to the villa where he holidays every year.
