GO recently supported a fund-raising activity organised by the Malta Hospice Movement. The initiative is in line with the company’s tradition of supporting the philanthropic organisation’s activities with the common goal of offering a better quality of life for patients with serious medical problems.
The Malta Hospice has gained respect locally over the years for exclusive holistic support that the movement’s team of dedicated members offers on a voluntary basis to cancer and motor neuron disease patients and their families. The Malta Hospice considers patients not just as sick
people but as human beings, and focuses on their physical, emotional, social and spiritual problems, implementing an individual care plan for each patient.
Go, under its previous brand Maltacom, has always offered the Malta Hospice its ongoing support, ranging from financial assistance to sponsorships at different levels in the form of various communication services and products offered by the company. In fact, earlier this year the company provided the Hospice with a year’s supply of Easyline – as it has done for several years – for use by patients who need to travel abroad for medical treatment.
“We are proud to team up with the Malta Hospice Movement yet again and back its sterling work towards improving the standard of life for terminally ill people. Our company prides itself on a long-standing relationship with the Malta Hospice and has time and time again responded to the philanthropic organisation’s appeal for assistance,” said GO manager for sponsorships and corporate social responsibility Maria Jourdan.
“Sponsoring philanthropic initiatives with a strong social implication, such as the Malta Hospice cause, turns the spotlight on Maltacom’s corporate social responsibility and its strong social conscience. We are committed to caring for the community in which we operate,” Ms Jourdan stressed.
During the presentation held at GO’s head offices in Marsa, Malta Hospice representative Dominic Attard thanked the company for its ongoing support over the years. He stressed that the organisation relied on the support of caring companies like GO to reach its goal – which entailed being there for terminally ill patients and offering them – and even their families – the best quality of life humanly possible in misfortune-stricken circumstances.
