Cologne, Germany is this year’s destination for one of Malta’s pioneer "Ironman" Nicky Farrugia.

Triathlon enthusiasts will know the Ironman competition is no mean feat, Nicky knows this more than most having already competed in 14 long distance triathlons, 13 of them full distance Ironman, in various countries around Europe, even completing a double Ironman here in Malta in December 1994 in aid of a local charity.

Cologne 226 Ironman will take place in the heart of Cologne and surrounding Lake Fuhlingen area. It is being held next Sunday starting at 7am with a 3.8km swim, 180km bike, followed by a run of 42.2km finishing in Cologne city.
