Shooting: Malta Junior team places third in European championship

A contingent of junior shooters from The Malta Shooting Sport Federation this weekend took part in the Junior European Shooting Championships in the Sabbia D’ Oro ranges in Venice, Italy.

The Maltese Trap team composed of Ryan Bugeja, Justin Attard and Darren Xuereb placed third in the team event with a total of 261 out of 300 clays.

Ryan Bugeja managed 88/100, Darren Xuereb hit 87/100 and Justin Attard scored 86/100.

Skeet shooter Darren Vella made it to the barage final with 92 out of 100 and another 22 to finish fifth place over all. Clive Farrugia scored 88 out of 100.

The junior shooters were assisted by coach and official of the MSSF George Micallef.

The juniors will be arriving in Malta today at 1pm.

This morning William Chetcuti will be in action at the ISSF World Championships in Nicosia, Cyprus.
