The Labour Party will be organising mass activities on 20 and 21 September, with a so-called “Mass Fest” on the Thursday, and a fund-raising activity the following day.

The deputy leader for party affairs, Michael Falzon, said the party had continued with its activities over summer to present proposals which would lead to a new beginning for the country. These included the activities related to the party’s regional development plan for Grand Harbour, and the proposals affecting people who were buying their first residence.

The general election was closer with each day that passed, and the party had felt the need to organise the two days of activity. The Mass Fest at Birzebbuga on 20 September will be for the whole family. It will start at 5pm with entertainment, and at 7.30pm, the party leaders will address those present. At 8pm, there will be pop music, and at 9pm a retro night 80s and 90s music.

On 21 September, Independence Day, the MLP will be raising funds in an activity starting at noon and lasting till 11pm. The party, Dr Falzon said, needed financial support. The party campaigns cost a lot so the party was asking everyone to help according to their means.

The party members would like to meet to meet as many people as possible on the day. The party centre will be open to the public and Dr Falzon appealed for donations to be made personally at the national centre if possible, firstly for the money to reach the party without delay, and secondly for the party to receive donors’ contributions in full.
