On Friday 17 August, Santa Lucia Football Nursery, under the auspices of the Santa Lucia Local Council, held its annual presentation night for the season 2006-2007 at the Serenity Gardens in Santa Lucia.

Santa Lucia Nursery strives to induce sportsmanship and teamwork with its players

This year marks one of the most significant landmarks for the nursery, as after an absence of several years, Santa Lucia Nursery will be once again participating in the national MFA league; specifically in the under 14 years category.

For this special occasion, The General Soft Drinks Co Ltd. aided the youths by sponsoring them through a full set of kits through one of its popular sports drinks, Powerade.

The kits were presented to Under 14’s year players by Mr Jonaphin Spiteri and Ms Davinia Pule’, in front of an encouraging participation from parents of all age groups.

This year, the complement of the Nursery exceeded previous records, as the number reached 100 players, with ages ranging from under 6, under 8 and under 10 to under 12 and under 14.

Those who would like to visit the nursery for more information may do so by calling the Nursery every Monday and Wednesday between 6pm to 8pm., or at the synthetic football pitch from Monday to Friday between 7pm and 8pm.
