Investment, Industry, and Information Technology Minister paid a visit to St Martin’s training college, where he said Malta needed not only technologists, but also the application of technology to other sectors in which we needed to compete.

What would be most needed by competitive economies as time passed was creativity. Needs were changing, he said, imagination and innovation were becoming more important.

St Martin’s is one of the institutions accredited by MCAST to offer courses by the ICT Institute and is the first Maltese educational institution offering a university degree in creative computing.

The minister expressed satisfaction that St Martin’s had recognised value in IT and creative practices and was offering an undergraduate degree in computing and information system, and in creative computing. From next year it would be offering also the masters degree in computing and information systems and creative computing of Goldsmith College.
