The General Workers’ Union and the Enemalta Professional Officers Union have written to the chairman of Enemalta Corporation in connection with his announcement that the Marsa power station would have to close down by 2015.
The two unions sought guarantees about the workers’ employment.
The chairman’s declaration, the unions wrote, had created unnecessary tension among the workers which could create occupational health and safety problems for them.
