A 51-year-old man is on the critical list after sustaining serious burns in a factory accident in San Gwann yesterday.

It is understood that the man, from Santa Venera, was handling methylated spirit at about 8.45am, when the container somehow exploded in his hands.

He was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where doctors gave him emergency treatment for the burns he had suffered. Doctors placed him on the critical list. Duty Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona appointed a number of court experts to assist him in an onsite inquiry.
