Le Méridien St Julian’s, Balluta Bay is hosting a permanent sculpture exhibition by Mark Anastasi.

His exhibited pieces include abstract forms created from single building blocks. Made out of golden globigerina, the different structures vary in their form, from castles and towers to ramps and rectilinear shapes and more. As pointed out by art critic E.V. Borg, his works show rhythm, harmony, cadence and nuance. His work is likened to the detail of lace, the labyrinth-like world of the Knossos minotaur. It is a beginning without an end, a search for relief which ultimately leads to an illusive discovery. The sculptures are intricate yet at the same time, simple and economic.

These pieces can be viewed at the lobby area in level three and in level one on the conference and banqueting level.

This is not the first exhibition by Anastasi, having had other exhibitions at the Biennale di Firenze, St James Cavalier and at Cleland and Souchet among other venues.

Several of his pieces are also owned by private collectors. Some of his works can also be seen on numerous online galleries.
