A few months ago, Birkirkara Road, from Attard to San Anton Gardens, was given a layer of tarmac, but only on one side! To put your readers in the picture, the left lane leading to San Anton Gardens was left without tarmac, whereas the other half was resurfaced. Is this stretch of road considered to be border line between Attard and Balzan? Hope not. Who authorised the job? Was it the Attard or Balzan council, or was it the central government? Whoever was responsible obviously committed a disservice to the Attard and Balzan communities, the President who resides at San Anton Palace, and whoever uses the stretch of road from Birkirkara towards Attard.

Other areas recently resurfaced that have been left half done and are worth mentioning are: Savoy Hill, top of Rue D’Argens; Tat-Targa area, between the old bus shelter and the entrance to Gnien L-Gharusa, up the road from the major Burmarrad Road project completed two/three years ago; Mosta Road from Kind’s Auto Showroom/Hal Mann down to the Subaru showroom in Lija; Valley Road Birkirkara from The Malta Labour Party Club towards the VAT offices; and the roundabout area in front of Dinitrol station, Luqa, again a few metres from the Gudja Airport, another major project.

I could mention a dozen other places around our hole-ly but beautiful island, but I would need the whole page! What irks me most is that we can do the job but somewhere along the line, we got to muck it up!
