The European Youth Water Polo Championships will start today with a full programme commencing at 9am, ending with the final match between Malta and Italy at 6.45pm.

The games promise to be an exciting event. The training sessions held so far already show that there are a number of exceptional players that form part of the participating teams.

Admission at the Tal-Qroqq pool for this tournament will be free of charge, thus the public has the chance to enjoy and appreciate some top level waterpolo.

The Malta side is coached by Anthony Farrugia and has already made it clear that it does not harbour hopes of getting much good results.

Their only target is for the youngsters in the squad to gain valuable experience in readiness for future commitments.
