Nick started piano lessons at the age of seven and currently holds his Royal Associated Board Grade 8 in piano performance certificate.
At the age of 17, he discovered his passion for classical singing and started his training with soprano Gillian Zammit and was immediately cast in the Opera Semele by Handel.
Since then Nick has performed in various musicals and small scale operas, playing roles such as the Prince in the pantomime Cinderella (MADC), Tony in West Side Story (Drama Troupe), soloist singer in Voices Extraordinaire, and Prince Tamino in The Magic Flute (Manoel Theatre).
Nick has also attended several master classes with Denise Mulholland (soprano), Jane Webster (soprano) and has recently been coached by the tenor Nick Sears, head of Vocal Studies at the Royal Collage of Music in London.
He is currently coaching voice students at Drama Troupe. He is also studying for his Royal Associated Board Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance and he will be auditioning in the near future.
Next Sunday he will be singing with Francesca Aquilina in a concert of classical music entitled Notturno at the Music Room at St James Cavalier

How old are you? Star sign and date of birth?
I am 22 years old and I am a Virgo, born on 11 September 1984.
What would you like to be doing in 10 years’ time?
I would like to be singing professionally, travelling the world. Also my experience of teaching so far has instilled in me a desire to be able to pass on what I have learnt and I hope to be able to continue that in the future, secondary to my singing carrier.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Having a good time with true, honest friends, and sharing the things I love most in the world with that someone special I truly love.
What is your favourite occupation?
Working as a professional opera singer.
Significant other?
Yes, she’s a cute curly haired brunette, my ideal woman.
What is your greatest fear?
I’m afraid of failing in what I wish to achieve.
What is it that you most value in your friends?
Their honesty… a true friend always tells you the way things truly are.
How would you like to die?
I would like to die in the arms of my love, at the top of a mountain with an amazing view.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I love buying the latest technology, which relates to music.
What is your greatest regret?
I would have loved to have started studying music abroad at a younger age.
What is your most treasured possession?
Without trying to sound too cheesy, I’d have to say it is definitely my voice.
Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?
I would love to know how to draw, as unfortunately I can only draw match stick figures.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Backstabbing friends for your own personal gain.
Where would you like to live?
I would like to live in Central London, and I’d also would like to have a little get-away hut somewhere in the Swiss Alps.
What is your most marked characteristic?
I believe I’m a fast learner as I am very observant.
Who are your heroes/heroines in real life?
My father, he can do anything he puts his mind to. My mother as she always gets what she wants. And above all, my hero and idol would be musician and professional tenor – Juan Diego Florez. He has the most beautiful and expressive voice I have ever heard.
What is it that you most dislike?
I dislike spoilt and selfish people who only think about themselves.
