Charles Mangion accuses me of “living in the past” (TMIS, 2 September) because, in another section of the press, I recalled Labour’s awful 1971-1987 record in the education sector.

Dr Mangion’s interpretation of what I wrote is indeed quaint. It is obvious that he did not relish my resisting Labour’s efforts to erase the reality of their record in the education sector from the collective memory of the Maltese people.
