Robbers made off with what was described as a considerable amount of money yesterday when a van was held up in Mosta at about 11am.

The police said that from preliminary investigations they have made, a 37-year old man from Iklin was getting into his work van, when another van with two people inside was driven by.

A man with his face covered came out of the van and hit the 37-year old Iklin man on the head.

The robbers managed to escape after they stole a bag containing a considerable amount of money.

Duty Magistrate Grixti called on a number of experts to help him with the enquiry.

Police investigations are still under way.
