The Labour Party has had a meeting with Malta Shipping, the towing company, to discuss its regional development plan for Grand Harbour.
Company director Joseph Caruana said that while it was important for a party like the MLP to look into the needs of companies operating from the port, it should be realised that there was a shortage of space for boats, ships and tugboats in both Grand Harbour and its environs.
Acting leader Michael Falzon said the party was holdings meetings to be told about problems and needs of the communities around Grand Harbour.
With its regional development plan, the MLP wanted to regenerate the area culturally, environmentally, socially and
economically.
