A man, his wife and their son were all injured seriously in a traffic accident in which a Nissan pick-up crossed the central strip in the road and hurtled into their lane, hitting their Daewoo vehicle.

None is on the critical list.

The accident happened in Triq Margaret Murray, Naxxar at about 6.15am when a 19-year-old from Mgarr lost control of his Nissan pick-up, went over the central strip and crossed into the oncoming lane, hitting the Daewoo and injuring the 38-year-old Qawra man, his wife, 36, and their eight-year-old son.

The driver of the pick-up was not injured.
