Evelyn Duah has recently appeared at the Samuel Becket theatre, Dublin in the Irish premier of Bones by Kay Adshed directed by Bairbre Ni Chaoim, a two hander that has been received with great critical acclaim. She played “Beauty” and “The Boy”, two fantastic but challenging roles. Evelyn has also performed with the RSC Gunpowder season Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Trafalgar Studios in London’s West End in A New Way to Please You. She played Hippolita in Believe What You Will. Both plays were directed by Sean Holmes and Josie Rourke. She will also be appearing in the new series of Silent Witness directed by Diarmud Lawrence as well as the film Outlaw directed by Nick Love.

Evelyn trained at The Anna Sacher Theatre and has a BA Hons in Performing Arts from Middlesex University.

Doubt will be her Maltese debut and she greatly looks forward to treading the boards at the Manoel Theatre next month.

Living life to the max.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Not worrying about the things I haven’t got and enjoying the things that I have.

Acting – the second oldest occupation in the world.

God and my gorgeous son.

What is your greatest fear?

Don’t have one.

What is it that you most value in your friends?

Honesty, honesty and more honesty.

How would you like to die?

More interested in living than dying. Death takes care of itself.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Shoes… bags… coats… dresses… jewellery. The list goes on. I’m a lady!

What is your greatest regret?

No regrets. Just bad choices.

What is your most treasured possession?

My life.

Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?

I’d like to be good at DIY… and plumbing and a mechanic and an accountant. Anyone I have to pay to do something I can’t do.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

No hope and no faith.

Where would you like to live?

A place called home which changes frequently. Today, it’s Dublin.

What is your most marked characteristic?

My optimism.

Who are your heroes/heroines in real life?

My mum and dad.

Lies: they don’t grow old – they just get bigger.

What’s mine won’t pass me by.
