The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will again be organising a Beginners Course in Woodcarving starting from Saturday 13 October. The aim of the course is to enable students to embark on their own woodcarving projects with a helping hand from the tutor. Tuition will be given in row relief and simple carving in the Round. It will also include learning how to recognise various timbers and their selection and carving properties as well as looking at the different types of tools required.

The course will run for 10 sessions and the cost is Lm9 (EUR20.98) for the whole course.

Tools are to be provided by the student while wood can either be provided by the student or by the society at a cost.
