Right now the Nationalist Party has embarked on a campaign of boasting about the great successes that the government has achieved.
But the problem that I am seeing is that all the successes that the PN is boasting about, especially regarding our economy which in their opinion is expanding day by day, is not being felt and transmitted to the Maltese citizens who during these last years have had to make a lot of sacrifices to achieve these results.
Instead of benefiting from the fruits of these great achievements that the government is seeing, we are facing a lot of price rises, while on the other hand we have had the lowest wage rise in the European Union.
These are the great achievements which we had to see in the long run! We saw a rise in the prices of bread (1c to 3c), rice (6c). cheese (25c per kg), butter (3c to 20c), cereal (5c), milk (1c), biscuits (1c), among many other things.
This is the problem of the Nationalist Party in government. It’s not delivering; we are not seeing improvement in our life standards and many people who are trying to struggle with their minimum wage are finding it much harder to cope with these rises in prices.
