A Parent’s plea

Malta Independent Wednesday, 19 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

With the scholastic year about to start, I urge school authorities and in particular teachers to have everything prepared on the first day – what I means is that I would not like to have to go to a stationery every single day for the first two weeks of school to buy this, that and the other.

Such a list should be provided on the first day of school so that parents need to go to the stationery only once. And, please, limit such a list to things that the children will eventually use. There have been many occasions when children were asked to buy too many copybooks, scrapbooks and whatnot and ended up using them for rough work.

These things cost money.
