Five Maltese wrestlers won five medals in the Sicilian Grand Prix which ended last Sunday in Palermo. On the other hand the Maltese ended in sixth place out of 23 participating teams in the team classification.

Aidan Buhagiar won the gold medal, Abraham Vassallo, Adam Vella and Matthew Bonnici all got silver medals while Andrea Saliba won a bronze.

The wrestlers were under the direction of national coach Jesmond Giordimaina. The Maltese contingent was led by Manuel Cilia and included international referee Pawlu Farrugia.
