Aircraft from different countries flew in yesterday to participate in the Malta international air show organised by the Malta Aviation Society that will take place today and tomorrow.

The static display of aircraft will still take place in Luqa but the aerobatic displays will all be held in the bay, giving viewers a 3.5km vantage point along the Bugibba promenade.

The main attractions are a single F16 fighter belonging to the Dutch forces and a team of microlight aircraft from Italy.

The show will include an interesting interaction between air and sea with an Italian water-bomber, which was involved in the recent blazes in Greece and a display by Armed Forces of Malta aircraft and vessels.

The flying display will start at 3.30pm and end at 5pm, running tomorrow and Sunday, while the static display in Luqa on both days will be open to the public from 10 am to 5.30 pm.

Tickets for the static display have been halved to Lm2, while children under 12 will be able to enter for free.
