Around 60 players and guests gathered at the Marsa Sports Club recently for the annual squash section awards and barbeque evening.

Roberta Pace Grima from the squash section committee presented several awards to players in different categories.

This annual event rounds off the 2006/7 squash season and also sees the end of the summer squash season and gives players the chance to vote for their ‘player of the season’

Awards were presented to the following players;

Most consistent league player: Michael Fenech.

Most improved league player: Nigel Dunkerly.

Best overall performance in the leagues: Karl Grech Orr.

Marsa squash section player’s player of the year: Carl Camilleri.

The squash section also boasts the largest number of junior squash players in Malta and awards were presented to the following juniors:

Most improved junior under 13: Colette Sultana.

Most improved junior under 9: Amy Spiteri.

Most enthusiastic junior: Richard Puglisevic.

Most regular participant in tournaments: Zach Farrugia

The squash section committee thanked everyone involved at Marsa for making this such a successful season.
