Wheelchairs Set ablaze

A man was treated for smoke inhalation at Floriana policlinic yesterday morning after two wheelchairs lying outside a private residence were set alight. The 49-year-old man was later allowed home.

The blaze, in Robert Samut Square, Floriana, was reported at 2.45am and was put out by the district police.

Two cars parked nearby and the door of a residence were slightly damaged.

Duty magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima was informed about the incident and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.

Police investigations are still under way.
