Heritage Malta, next Thursday will be giving a 50 per cent discount on the entry tickets for individual visitors to a selected number of museums and sites in Malta and Gozo as part of the celebrations for World Tourism Day which is held annually on 27 September. Children under the age of 12 years enter these sites for free.
The discounted sites which have been chosen for this year are the National Museum of Archaeology and the Palace Armoury in Valletta, The Malta Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa and Ggantija Temples in Gozo.
In Ggantija a temporary visitor centre has just been set up. The centre is being used as a ticketing centre and as an exhibition space which will be replaced by a permanent visitor centre. Heritage Malta has already applied for EU Funding for the new centre which is expected to be ready by 2013.
