The AFM’s maritime squadron on Monday went to the rescue of a couple who found themselves trapped in a marine cave on their inflatable dinghy.

The Vittoria-class rescue launch Melita II and a team of 3 Regiment EOD divers were dispatched just after 3pm to help the couple trapped in the cave in the vicinity of Qala quarry.

The dinghy’s occupants, a man and a woman in their late 50s and 40s respectively, were escorted out to safe seas until no further assistance was required
