This year’s edition of Edenfest, organised by the Eden Foundation, is being held on Sunday at Studio 7 in Birkirkara by-pass.

The main aim of Edenfest is to collect donations to keep Eden Foundation operating.

The foundation is currently losing around Lm500 each day and apart from 343 students who receive the foundation’s services, there are 50 more on the waiting list.

Edenfest will be broadcast live on television stations. Claudette Pace, Svetlana Muscat, and Chrisander Agius will be presenting the programme during which local singers and dance groups will provide entertainment.

This year, the Edenfest theme is Learn. Take action. Participate. A number of personalities have visited the premises throughout the year and participated actively in some of these sessions, in order to offer their experience and understand how donations collected have been administered and spent over the years.

At a press conference held at SAS Radisson Resort, Eden Foundation president Brother Martin Borg explained that there was a complete transformation in the management of the foundation as well as a new administrative structure together with the innovative “corporate objectives planning” process and monitoring strategies in order for the activities to be evaluated, restructured and organised.

He said that those who contribute financially to the foundation have every right to find out how it is using its resources.

He also declared that Eden never made any profit and if it were to, this would be reinvested in education.
