On Saturday Marsa played their first game in over two months against a touring team. Ladymead CC from Sussex, England had a two game series which started on Friday.

On Friday Marsa won the toss and elected to bat. The Marsa batsmen rattled 144 runs and were bowled out in the 37th over. Sunny Krishna batted well and top scored with 34 runs. Javed shah made 29 runs including five fours. Chris Naudi made 23 runs late in the innings and Sagar Krishna added 18 runs.

For the visitors M.Gooda took four wickets while Shambrok and Mackay both took two wickets each. The two opening batsmen of W.Godda (54 runs) and L.Hamman (32 runs) set up the stage for their team's victory. B.Paey and J.Craven both scored 19 runs in the proceedings. Four bowlers took a wicket each.

On Saturday Ladymead won the toss and elected to bowl first. Marsa commenced badly again losing Nowell Khosla in the second over for five runs.

A steady partnership was then being buit by Mark G. Sacco (11 runs) and John Grima (12 runs), but both went out in consecutive overs.

Joy Ghoseroy top scored with 22 runs. The next four batsmen Nadeem Ashraf (11 runs), Robert Krishna (16 runs), Ronnie Sacco (12 runs) and Mike Caruana (21 runs) all made starts but did not go on to make big scores.

Marsa were again all out making a total of 133 runs. For Ladymead C. Shambrok and T. Robin both took three wickets each and W. Gooda took two.

For a second day running the opening pair of W. Gooda (41 runs) and L.Hamman (53 runs not out) set the stage for a whitewash. T. Robin smashed 32 runs including five fours and a six. For Marsa the only wicket takers were Mike Caruana and Nowell Khosla with a wicket each. Ladymead win the series two nil.

Next Saturday the academy/nursery will be from 9.30am till 11.30 am. Boys and girls aged eight and up are welcome at the Marsa Cricket Club which is part of the Marsa Sports Club.
