A man was yesterday cleared of fraud, after a court ruled that there was not enough evidence put forward to warrant a conviction.
Joseph Fenech, 48, from Kappara, was cleared of defrauding Absi Rabiaa out of Lm1,200 between September 2001 and January 2002.
The court, presided over by magistrate Giovanni Grixti, ruled that not enough evidence had been forward to support the charge of fraud. Police superintendent Sandra Mamo prosecuted while Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
