Two brothers were yesterday conditionally discharged for one year after being found guilty of stealing construction equipment from the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa in Ghajn Tuffieha.

Silvio Coleiro, 39, from Mqabba and his brother Joseph, 44, from St Paul’s Bay were both found guilty of stealing construction material from the said hotel site on 3 October 2005. Silvio Coleiro alone was cleared of driving recklessly and attempting to seriously injure a security guard in the getaway process.

The court, presided over by magistrate Giovanni Grixti, conditionally discharged both brothers for one year. Police inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted while Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
