Court: Nigerian Charged with conspiring to deal 2kg of cocaine

A Nigerian holding Maltese nationality was yesterday charged with conspiracy to traffic just under two kilogrammes of cocaine with a street value of over Lm100,000.

Gordian Azuogu Ohaegbu, 32, pleaded not guilty to conspiring with others to deal cocaine on 15 March 2007 and the preceding three months.

He was also charged with being in possession of and dealing cocaine. The court, presided over by magistrate Antonio Mizzi, granted bail against house arrest, a deposit of Lm10,000 and a personal guarantee of Lm40,000.

Police inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
