Chris J. Delicata, 34 from St Julian’s was recently appointed vice-president of the International Diabetes Federation – European Region (IDF-Europe) during a board meeting that was held in Dublin, Ireland.

Mr Delicata has been actively involved as a board member of IDF Europe since 2003. In February 2006 he was appointed Treasurer of the European Region.

Mr Delicata is the youngest member of the European Region board and the first Maltese to occupy a high position within the hierarchy of IDF-Europe.

During the same meeting, Professor Eberhard Standl from Munich took over as President following the resignation of Dr Tony O’ Sullivan.
