School has started and once again for the past week I have had to go to a stationery shop every single day to buy this and that item for my children.

I understand that my children have different teachers who have different exigencies. But I expect schools to be more organised in this regard.

They should compile a list of the copybooks, scrapbooks and whatnot their pupils need for all their lessons and give them the list on the first day of school. Instead, what happened is that on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (when I am writing this letter) – and presumably on Thursday and Friday too – I had to rush from my office to the stationery shop to buy the different items that my children needed.

Is it such a difficult exercise for teachers to inform the school of what they would require of their students, and then give out one list on the first day of school?

But perhaps teachers think that the rest of the working population is like them – off home at 2.30pm or thereabouts.

Some more respect towards parents would be appreciated. We do have other things to do.
