Cultural visits being organised by the Tourism and Culture Ministry this year are being themed. The eight visits, held on Sundays, will be spread between 21 October and 4 May.
The 21 October tour will be themed “Caravaggio”, and will visit St John’s Co-Cathedral, the Auberge of Italy and the Caravaggio Trail.
• 25 November – “Romantic Mdina”, will take in Palazzo Falson, a concert by the National Orchestra at Mdina local council, and Vilhena Palace, comprising the National Museum of Natural History.
• 9 December – “Tradition and Industry”, seeing the olive oil process at Wardija, the grinding mill (mithna tat-thin) in Mistra and Azzopardi Fisheries tuna farm.
• 13 January – “Transport”, will visit the railway station at Rabat, the Bugibba Vintage Cars Exhibition and the building of a Maltese dghajsa.
• 17 February – “St Elmo and its Environs” will take in the Malta Experience, Alarme in St Elmo, and the Knights Hospitallers at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.
• 16 March – “Good Friday worship”, will include visits to exhibitions related to the day.
• 20 April – Day’s cultural visit to Gozo.
• 4 May – Harbours cruise.
