Court: Man Charged with theft

A 43-year-old man from Cospicua was yesterday jailed for two years suspended for four years after he pleaded guilty to stealing cash from his hometown in September 2004.

Robert Cassar also pleaded guilty to holding Francis Bugeja, an elderly man, against his will, slightly injuring him and receiving stolen property.

Magistrate Anthony Vella jailed him for two years suspended for four.

Police Inspectors Jeffrey Cilia and Alexander Grech prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Deborah Delceppo appeared for the accused.
