First Division club St George’s FC have presented their new signings, ahead of the start of the season.

These are James Mercieca, Martin Camilleri, Clayton Caruana, Luke Desira Buttigieg, Samuel Cassar, Luke Agius, Keith Xuereb, Brandon Borg, Jesmond Delia, Adrian Marmara, Glenn Tanti and Nigerian striker Peter Anizoba.

Club president Chris Agius MP said the team will be looking forward to regain a quick promotion to the Premier League.

He also introduced new coach Michael Woods, formerly an assistant to Robert Gatt at Hibernians.

He added that all the players that joined the club came mostly as replacements for some of their top players last season who have been requested by other top clubs.

He thanked Eurosport, who are sponsoring the club’s kit through the brands Legea and Maxx, as well as belmed Info. Tech, a company which also helps the club.

Also present for the presentation were Fabian Catania of Eurosport and Carmelo Grech, team manager.

The Bank of Valletta first division league gets under way on Tuesday 9 October. The Saints play their first match the following day, against rivals St Patrick.
