The Employment and Training Corporation is launching a Traineeship Scheme in Information and Communication Technology partly funded by the European Social Fund. The Scheme is made up of a combination of on-the-job and off-the-job training. It intends to provide a high level of ICT skills to persons interested in taking up a career in the ICT sector and to provide ICT enterprises with adequate supply of highly qualified human resources.

The ETC is inviting employers who wish to participate in this scheme. As an employer you will be required to identify the ICT skills (or courses) needed. Furthermore, you will be required to engage trainees, give them training in ICT vocational competencies and release them for training sessions off-the-job.

The ETC will subsidise the tuition fees and 40% of the minimum wage for each trainee throughout the whole duration of the approved training programme.
