The Malta Hospice is holding the Voices for Hospice concert tomorrow at St John’s Co-Cathedral at 7.30pm. This choral concert of sacred music, held every second year, is the official fundraising event of World Hospice and Palliative day care.
The New Choral Singers are Malta’s entry for Voices for Hospices 2007. They will interpret a selection of classical compositions by Mozart, Vidiana and Tallis. The highlight of the evening will be the choir’s rendition of the Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo by Haydn. Live free a poem set to music by Laura Snowden, is the unifying song for Voices for Hospice 2007.
The Malta Hospice Movement was the first organisation outside the UK to hold concert. By 2005, over 500 concerts in 60 countries had joined in making it the world’s largest simultaneous musical event.
