The fifth edition of the ‘Simpatia Crai’ team tournament which started in late August has now reached its half-way stage.

This tournament, is sponsored by Mr and Ms Joe Vella of Mimosa Street, G’Mangia.

Six teams, each having 12 ladies and 14 men, are taking part in this Round Robin competition.

For the past five weeks the tournament matches were held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; the second round will be played only on weekends.

The first round produced many interesting encounters in all divisions. Considering that each player has to play at least six encounters, the six captains are using different tactics in their teams’ selections. After the first round, Team ‘C’ of Marco Ricci is leading with 59 points.
