Justice And Peace Commission proposals for budget

Malta Independent Friday, 5 October 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The archdiocese’s Justice and Peace Commission said it had drawn up reflections on the pre-budget document after consultations with other Church commissions and secretariats, and has sent them to the prime minister for his consideration.

Among subjects it had dealt with, it said, were measures which interested the family, such as the children’s allowances. It had also reflected on pensions, housing, education, health, youth, culture and the financial sector.

The commission said its reflections were meant only as a contribution to a more open and impartial dialogue, with the ultimate aim of appealing to everyone to do his part and embrace the principles of the Church’s social teaching.
