Yachting: IT Solutions For Royal Malta Yacht Club

The Royal Malta Yacht Club, organiser of the annual 606 mile Rolex Middle Sea Race has announced the appointment of Merlin Computers Ltd as its official IT partner for this prestigious event.

Merlin Computers Ltd is one of the leading IT Solution providers in Malta and represent Fujitsu Siemens Computers of Germany.

“With a sizeable fleet expected the Club needs a flexible and reliable IT solution to manage the event. The yachts will be based in Cottonera and as such a Wide Area Network is being installed and maintained by our IT partners. This allows us to access the Club’s system remotely.

Members of the Press and visitors to the club will also have access to a wireless high-speed internet connection being installed at the Royal Malta Yacht Club. The official website of the Rolex Middle Sea Race www.rolexmiddlesearace.com has now also been enhanced and will include a sophisticated tracking system for the tracking of the yachts during the race “ said Georges Bonello Dupuis, Commodore of the Royal Malta Yacht Club.

The Rolex Middle Sea Race 2007 starts from Marsamxett Harbour, Malta on Saturday 20 October.
