An Msida man yesterday pleaded guilty to driving a car without a road licence or insurance cover and to attaching the license plates of another car.
Jesmond Sghendo, 33, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Escort on which he had attached the registration plates of an Austin Metro in the months preceding 2 September 2003. The man was also found guilty of driving the Austin Metro without a road license or insurance cover.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman conditionally discharged Sghendo for two years, fined him Lm270, suspended him from obtaining a driving license for a year and ordered the confiscation of the Ford Escort.
Inspector Stephen Mallia prosecuted while Dr Roberto Montalto assisted the defendant.
