Masquerade promises an exciting start to the new theatre season with the superb new play Doubt by John Patrick Shanley.

Set in a Bronx Catholic School, Doubt explores the moral and ethical conflicts that emerge when a Mother Superior suspects a priest of inappropriate behavior with a young male student.

Unsure of how to voice her concerns, the strong-minded nun resolves that she must act upon her suspicions. She conspires to remove the priest, with the help of a subordinate nun and the student’s tormented mother.Doubt won the Tony Award for Best Play in 2005 and its premiere performance in Malta will no doubt be as challenging, thought-provoking and entertaining!

This prize-winning drama is directed by Anthony Bezzina and features Monica Attard, Faye Paris, Malcolm Galea and a guest performance from Evelyn Duah from the UK’s Royal Shakespeare Company. The set is designed by Harry Borg and the costumes by Ernest Camilleri.
