Maltese cueists Tony Drago and Alex Borg have reached the last 32 stage of the Snooker.de German Open which is taking place in Duesseldorf, Germany.
Alex Borg won through to the last 64 stage after winning qualifying Group 14 with two wins over his opponents Stefan Kasper and Rolf Gentner. He won both matches 3-0.
Drago qualified as he need only one victory. In fact, he and the other qualifier from Group 20, Jurgen van den Bossche, beat the other player, Roberto Abart 3-0 and therefore qualified as group winners without having to play the match between them.
In the Last 64 stage, Tony Drago defeated Stefan Kasper 3-1, while Alex Borg registered a similar scoreline against Jurgen Van den Bossche.
Both Maltese players showed some good form till this stage. In fact, Alex Borg managed good breaks of 110 and 83 while Drago had a top break of 107 and a 66.
In the Last 32 stage, Drago will be meeting Michael Judge while Borg will have to face Tom Ford. Both Judge and Ford have been passing through some really good moments in recent tournaments.
