The Notte Bianca Lejl Imdawwal Saturday night in Valletta manifests the Maltese people’s appeal for diversity especially when living on an island the size of ours.

Long queues of people waited outside Auberge de Castille and the President’s Palace in Valletta to get a chance to walk around the buildings. Others gathered in the Royal Opera ruins to listen to the Italian Big band of Demo Morselli, while others chose to listen to the local bands and musicians performing at the Great Siege square and the Palace square. Those who wished to refresh their knowledge of Maltese history opted to go on the tours available, taking a walkabout around the city. Art lovers couldn’t miss visiting the art exhibitions held in auberges and chapels.

The battle spectacular It-Taqbida was another captivating activity which gathered quite a large audience in Freedom square, all oh who looked on amazed watching artists dancing with costumes emitting fireworks and others cliffhanging from a rope from St James into the square.

The second Notte Bianca, proved that not only is there a request for the revival of Valletta’s nightlife but that there is also a strong clamour for culture in its many forms.
