Special Olympics Malta, with Vodafone Malta Foundation as an official partner, is gaining excellent results in the World Special Olympics Summer Games in China.
Alexia Wetz won a gold medal in the 50 metre breast stroke; Silvana Cassar won a silver medal in the 200 metre freestyle; Chris Gregory won the bronze medal in the 50 metre breast stroke while Mark Zammit Cutajar classified in the fourth position in another 50 metre division.
In gymnastics, Nathalie Galea won five medals including a gold medal as an All Rounder with 28.048 points and a total of 7.337 points in bars. Silver medals were gained in vault (8.3652), beam (6.150) and in floor (6.862).
In athletics, Sera Caruana won a bronze medal in the 200 metre sprint; Joseph Tanti won a bronze medal in the 25 metre sprint and Yoanna Vassallo won a bronze in the 50 metre sprint. Ruth Tanti got a silver medal in the shot.
Today will see the games coming to an end with the Maltese team involved in the athletics relay competition. The closing ceremony will be held at 8pm Malta time
