The Broadcasting Authority yesterday filed a reply to a judicial letter in court saying the complaint of Azzjoni Nazzjonali with regard to lack of airtime on the national television station was being investigated by the authority.

In its judicial protest filed last week, Azzjoni Nazzjonali, a new political party, claimed that the authority was doing nothing to ensure that the Public Broadcasting Services Limited, which operates the national TV station, gives it as much coverage as it does to other political parties in Malta.

In its reply, the authority denied that it was not doing anything about the political party’s complaint. It said that the party had sent it a letter with its complaint and the case was appointed and heard and was postponed for judgement.

The authority said the party jumped the gun when it filed its judicial protest against it because there were still these pending proceedings. It therefore called on the party to stop making these false allegations about it.
