The re-building programme of over 450 residential streets included where possible the building of service roads at the side of main roads, resulting in better traffic management and safer access for residents, Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliett said.

He was speaking on site at the service road being built along Sir Paul Boffa Avenue in Paola. The service road and roadworks in the area would be costing over Lm70,000 (EUR163,056), including pavement rebuilding and water mains replacements.

Other works in Paola were being carried out along Triq Palma, Triq Hal Tarxien and Triq is-Sultana, and that was apart from completion of works in several others roads in the town, Mr Mugliett said.
